Information we collect
We collect and process information about our members and friends. This includes information that you give us when you fill in a membership form for church or from a ministry within church, an address update form, or other paper or online forms such as child consent forms for attending organisations or going on trips, book a ticket for an event, or complete a membership form for one of our ministries. Some of these may be paper or online.
We also collect and process financial information on donations made. This is necessary to run our envelope scheme, and to process gift-aid claims.
We collect information via selected third parties when you donate to us or purchase items or tickets. This includes suppliers of services such as Justgiving, eventbrite and Paypal who handle payment processing for us.
We also store information related to our contact with you – such as dates and times of visits or other contacts made by our staff, attendance of some ministries (e.g. some of the youth organizations keep records of nights attended).
We collect and process this information on the basis of legitimate interest.
Cookies and other internet information
When you visit our website or use any of our online services we will collect some information, such as your IP address, and the pages you have visited on our website. In common with most other websites we also use cookies to improve website experience.
Marketing and outbound contact
We also collect contact information in order to keep you informed of church-related notices. We do this on the basis of consent. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
Sharing your personal information with others
We use a number of online partners in our data processing. These include Paypal and Justgiving who provide online donation technology, Eventbrite who we use for ticketing, mailchimp for outbound email We also use some services from Google. We also use other carefully selected cloud services such as Microsoft. We also use iKnowChurch (Part of Edit Websites Limited, a UK company) to store and process some of our information and Cloudflare who help speed up our website. Where your personal information is stored
Most of our information is stored in electronic systems or paper records securely held within Whitewell Metropolitan Tabernacle. Where we make use of other suppliers of cloud-based services (such as our email) we work to ensure that the data is held within the EEA. Where there are exceptions such that your data will be exported (for example the worship team use planning center, software hosted in the US, to schedule worship services) we will ensure they meet GDPR regulations requirements.
Sometimes paper or electronic information is transported and stored outside our building. This is necessary for example in the case of ministries that are based outside our premises. Where we take your data outside our building we take reasonable measures to ensure that it is secured.
