If you have a heart to serve others, we have a number of catering teams looking after the various needs of the Whitewell Church. From those who each week provide tea and coffee after our Sunday Night and Wednesday night services, to those who help cater at funeral services, each one of our catering teams has a valuable role to play.

Sunday Night Supper

At our restaurant area above the minor hall every Sunday evening, after the service, our congregation can remain behind and enjoy some tea, coffee and tray bakes. They are all provided free of charge. The ministry is appreciated by the members of the church, many of whom travel distances on Sunday evenings to hear the Word of God. The Sunday night supper has been part of the Sunday gathering for many years now. To feed so many people at once takes tremendous organisation, but after so long in the job faithfully attending the Tabernacle members, this night runs like clockwork. Another wonderful aspect of the Sunday Night Supper is the opportunity for the fellowship it provides. Many make new friends, and relationships are formed during this time of relaxation.

Funeral Services

We have another caring catering team at Whitewell devoted to giving people the warmest welcome at times of bereavement. The team provides refreshments and food at funeral services. It takes considerable preparation and sensitivity to provide and serve on these occasions, but we have a group of dedicated volunteers who give themselves to this task.

Wednesday Night Coffee

Our very popular “Well Coffee Shop” is open on Wednesday evenings following our mid-week Bible study. Today, our Wednesday night coffee shop is full of people having fun and engaging in great conversation. Staffed mainly by volunteers, it’s an especially important ministry appreciated by many. There is no set age group when it comes to the Wednesday night coffee brigade. Instead, there appears to be an interaction between all age groups, both young and old, all of them able to fellowship in a safe Christian atmosphere.
